Hattie Stewart is playful pop art at it’s finest. Her googly eyed heroin’s melt and drip, in technicolor cut and paste, like a fashion focused, nickelodeon wet dream. Bold, cheeky and visually addictive and thankfully for us fans …..finally on show! As the talented East London illustrator debut’s her first solo exhibition Doll House; at KK Outlet in Hoxton for one more week only!
Hattie’s work perfectly personifies the growing infatuation with celebrity culture, and digital manipulation. Reworking and re-appropriating magazine front cover’s with her mischievous cartoon hearts and dazzling imagery. Hattie invites us into her brilliant brain, using her highly spirited visual voice, drawing directly atop an array of renowned magazine’s.
First penning her signature style in 2011, Stewart’s art has since evolved into an ongoing project series that explores the concept of breathing new life into old ideologies. To date her work has included Playboy, Dazed & Confused, Paper, The Gentlewoman, Rolling Stone, The Face and NME to name but just a few. The end result always unequivocally bold, colourful, attention-grabbing, and flirtatious.
Doll House; presents a myriad of her brand new work, Hattie’s trademark doodle-bombings, and many previously unseen pieces. Including highly coveted customised leather jackets, lenticular and hologram artworks, neon signage, wallpaper, and a bona fide dolls house that’s custom painted amidst fantasy settings.
